I love this restaurant! The ambiance was nostalgic for old times in Taiwan and the food dishes were great, very authentic. My favourite was the pork intestine thin noodle (). Meat ball in rice wrap () was delicious too. I would definitely go back as often as I can.

good food, good deco! look like I am in Taiwan.

Only had the tofu dessert. Brought back memories. Enjoyed it and loved the environment, would go back again and recommend. Sorry about the photo, ate half of it before remembering to snap a photo.

(Translated by Google) Authentic Taiwanese food, the chicken rice is very delicious, the chicken is very tender, the shallots are crispy and super fragrant, the Taiwanese taste is 100%~ It can be matched with their set menu. There are three side dishes and you can choose a dessert, which is very cost-effective. The dessert is a little smaller than usual, but I think the portion is just right~

The large intestine noodle is really super delicious. It is spicy. If you dare not eat spicy, you can also tell the waiter in advance and ask them not to add spicy.

In addition, I ordered some side dishes. The large intestine and the small intestine are highly recommended. There are garlic slices, coriander and ginger slices in it. If you don't like it, you can ask them not to add it when you order. Spicy pig ears are also highly recommended, the taste is fragrant.

There is a place to park at the back of the restaurant, which is very convenient, but there may be no parking spaces during the meal period. The dining environment is very comfortable, there are many things about Taiwanese culture, and the overall atmosphere is very good

We love coming here to get our fill of Taiwanese dishes. Shaved ice with tomatoes stuff with dried plum, with taro, peanuts and barley. Rice dishes are good too...for bigger meals we head to their other place Memory corner. Service is good and serves are friendly.

BEST grass jelly dessert in Richmond! Huge portion and great topping choices (highly recommend adding pudding to the chilled grass jelly dessert). The decor of the place makes it a special experience and the service is good.

(Translated by Google) Great Taiwanese food, a little pricey but decent taste. It is recommended to order a set meal, which is more cost-effective, and will want to visit the store for the second time.

Typical Taiwanese style food, had a late lunch or call it afternoon snacks. Food is good and service is good too, even only one at front to serve all guest.

  • *****

Great place! Even better is the Taiwanese food and some called guabao. Tasted just like the old days! Clean cuts of pork, cilantro and peanut pieces. And the service is really friendly too. It's now my go-to restaurant.

Sweet: delicious; savoury: meh. I give 5 stars for desserts but only 3 for the meals we got.

The grass jelly dessert was so good. In particular he taro balls were the best I've ever had. Complimented the dish well (fyi it's an add-on) but the grass jelly was great itself.

Got the pork belly bowl and bun. Both were quite disappointing. The meat was far from tender which is sad because it only needed to be stewed at lower temp for longer. Also was quite light on flavor-even the sauce was quite light. The egg was super overdone (grey outside). And, too much rice for the bowl toppings.

The bun: why multi grain? I think it was quite strange because it's adds a taste that does not compliment the dish. It also adds more texture making it harder to chew than it needs to be.

I think this place could be amazing if they improve the savory dishes. Though, maybe the pork is not their forte and other items are. I will say, if you only want dessert, soooooo gooooood!

This is a limited item shop compared to their more well know restaurant, Memory corner.

Nice little shop for snacks and dessert, their sea salt foam tea's are worth trying.

They started taking credit cards now.

  • *****

Very tasty and authentic Taiwanese food. Highly recommend!!

This is my second time coming to sweet memory. I really enjoyed the food and the good customer service. Because this is mainly a dessert place, their meals are much smaller, closer to an appetizer. Is great, I especially like the tarot crackers, and the Jasmine tea jelly. Will definitely come back again

  • *****

Very tasty dessert and charming atmosphere! Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

  • *****

Awesome authentic experience with great service and prices! This time we ordered a bunch of dishes, meat sauce on rice, turkey on rice, pork belly bun, and finally shaved ice for dessert. Everything was perfect and reminded me so much of the Taiwan night markets! We will definitely be going back again.

Love love love. Super nostalgic ambiance and food/desserts were amazing. Small menu for food but I like that they keep it simple.

  • *****

Great experience. Complete different atmosphere when entering. Good snack food and desserts. Might feel a little pricey for a snack sized side dish the size of your fist (~$15 ) but good flavour. Give it a go if youre in the area

Good food good service good environment!

  • *****

Awesome! The ambience is amazing, great decor. When we went, it was very busy with people lined up waiting for a table. Restaurant seemed to be short staffed with only 1 server for all the tables, but they did their best to accomodate everyone. Tofu dessert, coffee and grass jelly tasted great. Would come back for more dessert.

  • *****

Staff are really friendly and food was great...

Very delicious. Tofu pudding was very flavourful. Taro were still warm and smells very good.

    truly amazing place for deserts.
can't say much except if you didn't try this place yet tou are missing out like big time.
their earl grey bbtea is to die for.
the tea flavor is just off the charts.
makes every other bbtea I've tested taste bland.
can be busy but worth the visit.

  • *****

Love coming here for dessert! My favorite is the earl grey jelly with yam balls. I've never seen tapioca noodles anywhere else but here and it's tasty with hot grass jelly.

I got the the kinds tofu desert its really good and the aesthetic is really cool! Flavors of the tofu are regular, chocollate, and something I think is like a horlicks or ovaltine type of flavor. I added red bean and it was great! Would recommend.

We are visiting from Texas, and our friends recommended this restaurant. This place is a “sweet memory” of my visit to Taiwan! The authentic dishes hit the spot! We ordered the duck soup, minced pork over rice with egg and yellow daikon, and multi grain gua bao. We saved room for dessert, warm tofu pudding with boba. Everything was delicious, especially the minced pork over rice! Thank you for a great authentic Taiwanese meal!

  • *****

This is the best dessert Ive ever had. 10/10 recommend. The pudding tofu pudding is incredible, got it with pearls and it felt like a milk tea bubble tea in a bowl but even better in my opinion. They also serve a complimentary tea that is to die for.

  • *****

Their tofu dessert is the best. I recommend the three colour tofu dessert

Decent restaurant with a small but tasty selection of food. Try the tea grass jellies, they are awesome. The decor is a replica of older Taiwanese homes.

    Pros
    * Unique atmosphere
    * Great taste
    * Pudding tastes special.

    Cons
    * I think menu can be greatly improved. I think we should see pictures of all suggested food.

Amazing desserts. Not too sweet, very traditional. Love the tea jellies and the tofu pudding.

The bamboo-shoot meatball in rice wrap is a must-try, who doesnt love a sweet & sour(plus a hint of spicyness) flavor, right? Rice wrap is chewy, kinda like a thick spring roll skin. Tofu pudding is so good too! We got it with pearls and peanuts, yummy!(and its portion is good for two!)

  • *****

Sister restaurant to Memory Corner. This place is more for desserts then food. The food was kind of pricey. The desserts were fairly priced. Our favorites were grass jelly pudding and tofu pudding! Cutely decorated to provide the feel of an olden day Taiwanese place.

Authentic Taiwanese dessert with street food options. Shaved ice portion is good for sharing with 2-3 people. Tofu pudding + soy milk was silky and it didnt taste like the traditional tofu pudding, tasted like there was some diary creamer in it to create that smoothness. Its nice but not traditional taste.

(vermicelli with intestines) was really delicious. We had this at 10pm and even though we had dinner earlier, this dish brought us back to Taiwan instantly.

They have a sister restaurant called memory corner which weve been to several times. That restaurant is more homestyle Taiwanese sit down dinner, while this place is more dessert and street food. Great separation of concepts.

However, even though the restaurant was listed on Amex restaurant listings, they dont accept Amex when we were paying.

Food was actually pretty good, great service, very accommodating and transparent to dietary preferences. However way too pricy for what's supposed to be humble, traditional Taiwanese snacks. two "main" dishes and a dessert ran us $40. This restaurant was recommended by our friends and we thought to give it a try with our kids. We came this afternoon (Sunday) around 12:30 and got a table right away. We were so impressed by the service, atmosphere and food in the restaurant. The waitress worn a mask and checked our temperature for their Covid-19 policy. The lady was very attentive and friendly! Our kids made a mess with their tea on the table and she immediately cleaned up and sanitized the table. She comforted my kids that it was not a big deal. Our kids loved service and the food especially the meat sauce on rice, three color tofu pudding and passion fruit shaved ice! The prices were reasonable. Definitely coming back! Thank you for everything!

Been 3 times to Sweet Memory, all for dessert. Prices have gone up a few dollars and each person at your table is now required to order 1 item.

The grass jelly ($7.95) is still the best weve found. Fresh, homemade and great texture. We also tried the coffee jelly ($7.95) and tofu pudding ($7.95) with red bean and pearls ($3.00 extra) as additional toppings. First time trying the coffee jelly and it was solid. Actual coffee flavour! Dofu fah is average.

Will have to try their food one of these days.

This place is a sister restaurant of Memory Corner. This one only has appetizers and desserts.

The desserts are lightly sweet and pretty damn tasty. I do think most of the menu tastes the same in terms of the dessert but it is good. The yum balls are the condiment you see in most pictures.

The appetizers are OK I would just stick with what they are known for such as the braised pork or turkey rice. The rest of the dishes are below average.

Used to be open late but the hours are now updated and close earlier.

    Pro:
My god. The moment I went in, I felt like I was transported back home to Taiwan without having to bring my passport or pay the high price of an airplane fee. The decor, the little beer cups, the furniture, even the smell wafting in the air, was like Taiwan. The food is authentic and thankfully amazing. I find sometimes that can be a hit or a miss, but this place, knocked it right out of the park. This is the only place I want to try every single thing on the menu, and I've never had that experience before! I'm so tempted to write a bad review so I can keep this place a secret from the public :P

    Cons:
Opens from 5pm. (Why is that a con?!)
Because I have to wait till 5pm to taste the delicious food!! I suggest strongly to the owners. PLEASE OPEN FOR LUNCH!! I promise, if u open, we will come :D

    Conclusion:
A+++ restaurant. Best authentic Taiwanese comfort food in the city hands down.

  • *****

Interesting decor with lots of homages to old Taiwan. The restaurant also serves complementary sweet tea which doesn't go that well with desserts but it tasted good on its own. The dessert menu wasn't as extensive as I thought it would be - they mainly specialize in grass jelly and tofu pudding. The grass jelly and the tofu pudding don't come with anything in them and you can add "extras" which are included at most other Taiwanese dessert places (such as pearls, red bean, taro balls, etc). Once added the price is a bit over the top for what you get... And if you don't add these things the desserts would be much too plain. That said, the jasmine jelly was particularly good, would come back just to eat that!

  • *****

We only had dessert. Highly recommend if you like traditional Taiwanese desserts.

Really good but a bit on the sweet side for me. The shaved ice was super fluffy. The pudding we ordered as a topping was rich it was almost like custard. Grass jelly was really fresh but taste a bit more on traditional side compared to some places.

My favorite was the Jasmine Tea Jelly. Unique. Full of Jasmine Tea aroma. Good texture. With the little bit of cream on top, it was perfect. Highly recommend this one with taro topping. They were out of Oolong Tea Jelly but hope to come back to try that one.

  • *****

In my opinion, the dessert here is one of the best in Richmond. I would recommend sharing with another person because the portions are huge, but the food is so delicious that you may be able to finish it by yourself. The Taiwanese atmosphere and decor in this restaurant is beautiful, too.

  • *****

Very interesting atmosphere. Desserts here are traditional and delicious. Seats, not the most comfortable but it's alright cause it's all part of the experience and atmosphere. Service is pretty quick. Cute little place to eat some Chinese dessert with friends and family.

We love coming here to get our fill of Taiwanese dishes. Shaved ice with tomatoes stuff with dried plum, with taro, peanuts and barley. Rice dishes are good too...for bigger meals we head to their other place Memory corner. Service is good and serves are friendly.

  • *****

Our go to place for Taiwanese desserts. Decor is great but the bench and stool style seating can be kind of uncomfortable and squishy. Portions are quite large, especially the shaved ice. Definitely meant for sharing! Jasmine, grass, and coffee jelly are also good options. Skip the tofu pudding. Taro balls aren’t the best, but the pearls are just the right amount of chewy. Can’t get enough of their sweet TEA. Minus one star for the service, which can often be subpar. Difficult to get their attention sometimes and the workers always seem to look bored or tired.

  • *****

Dessert tofu portion is huge, for a food price. I got 3 flavors, and it was very good! The bbt is also p good. Their food portions seem small, so it is more of a snack or if you're not very hungry. The food prices

  • *****

I am in LOVE with the original grass jelly here. I order it with the taro balls, which are the chewiest and most flavourful ones I've had at any dessert place. I'd recommend splitting one bowl among two people as the servings are pretty big and the taro balls are filling. They also serve a sweet complementary tea that is almost addictive. This place gets busy at night, so expect a wait if you're going on a weekend.

  • *****

The atmosphere was delightful. Like you step into the other side of the world. Food was really good and filling. The drinks was delicious. Would come back for sure.

  • *****

Loved their turkey rice although the amount of meat was lacking. The braised pork rice was also delicious. We ordered Taiwanese sausage and it was considered as a "special" order aka. it takes them 10min to make it - hughly recommend. Their bubble tea is also stellar. Would definitely come back for more.

  • *****

Nice little shop for food and desert.
Love their sea salt foam tea's.

Outstanding place. They focus mostly on desserts but you can find a few dishes. If you don't feel very adventurous, try the beef sauce with rice. We went there to get authentic grass jelly and they delivered. For us it's hard to find in the US but this one tasted like three one you get in Taiwan. Very happy.

  • *****

Food selection is heavy on the snacks and desserts side, with limited offering of rice dishes. Their staff is friendly, and try their best to explain the items on the menu, i.e. power cakes. Seating is not the most comfortable (narrow wooden benches), but the place isn't too crammed. It's got some interesting retro decor too; makes you feel like you're visiting Taiwan in the 60s-70s.

The jasmine jello was a really refreshing dish to have! Would come back for it! The decorations of the place definitely brings you to the 70s- 80s experience of Taiwan. ?

Beautiful decor. Tried the original tofu pudding and the grass jelly, both of which were amazing. Also had the spicy pig ears. It's pretty good, but I like the tofu pudding and grass jelly more. Would go back.

Really neat hole in the wall full of vintage Taiwanese posters and items. They have small individual dishes and great desserts. I would recommend sharing them though because they're surprisingly big.

Great place for desserts. Love the construction and decor to make it look like an old street of Taiwan in the 1800s. Food is great, atmosphere is cozy, great for weekend hangouts. Location is a little hidden but not terrible.

Food of good quality. Tofu dessert was very silky soft.

Great atmosphere, retro Taiwanese music, friendly service and delicious food! We had the turkey rice, minced pork rice and the passion fruit shaved ice. Great little place to experience traditional Taiwanese food and reminisce old Taiwan in Richmond!

This is a hole in the wall place that is very easy to miss. I didn't know this place existed until my friend went there. You can't see the inside of the place from the outside, but the decor of this place is amazing. It is a very retro place. They serve hot food and dessert. For dessert, there is quite a selection and toppings. It is a cozy place which is good for late night catch up.

Best sweet place for authentic Taiwanese treat. All their options brought back memory. The entire store is decorated in Taiwan's 50s styles. Even my parents are amazed with the frames they put up, the ??? dolls, the antic bike, the traditional red lantern...etc. It feels like you are sitting in the Once Upon a Time movie set. Very amazing experience.

If you ever miss home or simply want to indulge the true Taiwanese traditional sweet, this is the place.

Classic Taiwanese braised pork rice + grass jelly + traditional Taiwan street feels + the legendary Teresa Teng music in the background = perfect experience.

You must add taro and yam balls to your grass jelly (especially if you are obsessed with QQ foods like I am.) The portion was big; I actually packed half of it home and it still tasted good the next day. The classic Taiwanese braised pork rice (???) was super satisfying.

The interior design and details created a unique Taiwanese street feel. It brought me straight back to Taiwan and those who know me, know that I love street food. I'm trying to think of one thing that they can improve on, but I'm having a hard time.

I absolutely love this place!! When you go in you can tell the owner put a lot of effort into the decor which is in a traditional taiwanese atmosphere. This place is almost like a museum of Taiwan!! All the little details from tea cups, to music, to furniture makes this place very special. Their food and bubble tea are also very delicious. I especially like their bubble tea and nougat. Please go visit this place!

Soy beverages are available if you ask for it. Decor is 10/10. Hecking fast food delivery (we were there around 5pm).

Food is good but sometimes need wait for a long time if your order hot pot

I've been here a couple of times now - the decor never gets old! I'm a huge fan of their super silky grass jelly.

Jasmine Jelly is always awesome. Checkout the fresh strawberry hotpots, you have to order this a day in advance.

Food is decent, mostly taiwanese small snacks at this location. Old school(old age) taiwanese atmosphere.

If you grow up in Taiwan you will smile when you walk into this restaurant. They put a lot of thoughts into their decorations, cups, pots, tables. And of course the food there is amazing! Will definitely bring my friends here. The only downside is its cash only. They don't take debit either.

One of the best Taiwanese places in Vancouver hands down

  • *****

Most authentic Taiwanese cuisine you can find in Vancouver! ??? and ??? took me back to my childhood!

Store looks really nice and food are very authentic Taiwan foods. Menu writen in Chinese with no so helping English on it. They opens late but foods are very good. Their pork belly with rice also their miced pork rice taste very much the same to those in Taiwan. They also offers some Taiwan foods that cannot be found in other Taiwan restaurant. Price is acceptable in Vancouver but definitely eating those in Taiwan is much much cheaper.
